Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/4 cup water
- 4 cups peaches sliced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400o
- Topping: Sift together 1 cup flour, 2 tablespoons sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon
- Cut the butter into the flour mixture until it forms coarse crumbles
- In a separate bowl combine egg and milk. Add to the flour mixture and stir just to moisten
- Filling: In a sauce pan combine 1/3 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon flour, water, and peaches. Simmer and stir frequently until thickened and bubbly
- Transfer the peaches into a buttered 2 quart baking dish
- Drop the topping in small mounds over the top
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until wooden toothpick comes out of the topping clean
