Flan

Experience the silky smoothness of flan, a traditional custard dessert that captivates with its rich caramel topping and delicate texture. Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350o
  2. Place 1/2 cup sugar in a sauce pan, heat over low heat, stirring frequently until sugar has melted and turns golden brown. Pour melted sugar into 6 custard cups to coat the bottom of the cups. Let cool.
  3. Beat eggs in a large bowl. Add milk, 1/2 cup sugar, and vanilla and stir until combined
  4. Place custard cups in a baking dish and fill the dish up with 1 inch of water.
  5. Pour egg mixture into custard cups. Sprinkle with cinnamon on top
  6. Bake for approximately 30 minutes until toothpick test comes out clean
  7. Remove custard cups from water and let cool completely.
  8. Loosen edges of custard from the cups with a butter knife. Place a small plate over the top and invert so custard falls out of cups onto the plate.
