Candied Ginger

This sweet and spicy treat is a delightful way to enjoy the bold flavor of ginger. Perfect for snacking or adding to baked goods, it’s simple to make at home.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh ginger, peeled and sliced thin
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions:
1. In a saucepan, combine the sliced ginger, sugar, water, and salt.
2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer.
3. Cook for about 30-40 minutes, or until the ginger becomes tender and translucent.
4. Remove the ginger from the syrup and place it on parchment paper on a wire rack to cool and dry for a few hours.
5. Once dry, toss the candied ginger in sugar to coat, if desired.
6. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
