Shortbread Cookies

These classic shortbread cookies are buttery, crumbly, and simply delightful. Perfect for any occasion, they are easy to make and sure to please everyone.

Ingredients
• 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
• 1/2 cup powdered sugar
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until the dough comes together.
4. Stir in the vanilla extract.
5. Roll the dough into a log shape, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
6. Slice the chilled dough into 1/4-inch thick rounds (or roll the and cut them into the shapes you would like to use) and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Add flower petals or other decorations before baking if desired.
7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
8. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
