Cuban Sandwich

This Cuban sandwich is a flavorful and hearty creation that combines layers of marinated pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard, all pressed between crispy Cuban bread. Originating in Cuba and popularized in Florida, this sandwich is known for its delicious combination of savory and tangy flavors. Ingredients:
• 1 loaf Cuban bread (or French bread as a substitute)
• 1/2 pound roast pork, sliced
• 1/2 pound ham, sliced
• 4 slices Swiss cheese
• 1/4 cup dill pickles, sliced
• Yellow mustard, to taste
• Butter, softened (for grilling)

Instructions:
1. Preheat a panini press or a skillet over medium heat.
2. Slice the Cuban bread lengthwise and spread a thin layer of yellow mustard on the inside.
3. Layer the roast pork, ham, Swiss cheese, and pickles on one half of the bread. Top with the other half, pressing down gently to compact the sandwich.
4. Spread softened butter on the outside of the sandwich for grilling.
5. If using a panini press, place the sandwich inside and close the lid. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
6. If using a skillet, place the sandwich in the heated pan and use a heavy skillet or a panini press to press it down. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.
7. Remove from heat and let cool for a minute before slicing.
