Tandoori Chicken

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken pieces (legs, thighs, or breasts)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons tandoori masala (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, lemon juice, tandoori masala, garlic, ginger, cumin, paprika, and salt. Mix well to create a marinade.
2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing any excess to drip off.
4. Grill the chicken for about 25-30 minutes, turning occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the chicken is cooked through.
5. Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired.
