Onion Rings
Crispy and golden, these onion rings are a classic comfort food that adds a delightful crunch to any meal. Perfect as a side dish or a standalone snack, they are easy to make and sure to satisfy your cravings for something savory and satisfying.
Ingredients
• 2 large onions (yellow or sweet), sliced into rings
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon paprika
• 1 cup buttermilk (or milk with 1 tablespoon vinegar)
• 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
• Oil for frying
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and paprika. In another bowl, pour the buttermilk.
2. Dip each onion ring into the flour mixture, then into the buttermilk, and back into the flour mixture to coat evenly.
3. Next, dip the coated onion rings into the breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure they stick.
4. In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Fry the onion rings in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
5. Remove the cooked onion rings and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
