Hummus
Hummus is a creamy and flavorful dip made primarily from chickpeas, tahini, and garlic, offering a nutritious option for snacks and appetizers. Perfect for pairing with pita bread, vegetables, or as a spread on sandwiches, this Middle Eastern classic is loved for its versatility and rich taste.
Ingredients
• 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
• 1/4 cup tahini
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• 2 tablespoons lemon juice
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
• Salt to taste
• Water, as needed
• Optional: paprika and olive oil for garnish
Instructions
1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, ground cumin, and salt.
2. Blend the ingredients until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. If the hummus is too thick, add water a tablespoon at a time until the desired consistency is reached.
3. Taste and adjust the seasoning, adding more salt, lemon juice, or garlic if desired.
4. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and drizzle with olive oil, sprinkling paprika on top for garnish if you like.
5. Serve with pita bread, fresh vegetables, or use as a flavorful spread in wraps and sandwiches.
