Grilled Traditional Salsa

This grilled traditional salsa features a delightful smoky flavor from charred vegetables, making it a perfect addition to any summer gathering. The combination of grilled tomatoes, jalapeños, and green peppers creates a fresh, vibrant dip that pairs wonderfully with tortilla chips or as a topping for your favorite dishes.

Ingredients
• 4 ripe tomatoes
• 1-2 jalapeño peppers (adjust to taste)
• 1-2 green bell peppers
• 1 small onion, quartered
• 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• Juice of 1 lime
• Salt to taste
• Optional: 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

Instructions
1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
2. Place the tomatoes, jalapeño peppers, green bell peppers, and onion on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until the vegetables are charred and softened.
3. Remove the grilled vegetables from the grill and let them cool slightly. Once cooled, peel the skins off the tomatoes and discard them.
4. Finely chop the grilled tomatoes (after peeling), jalapeño peppers, green bell peppers, and onion.
5. In a medium bowl, combine the chopped vegetables with the minced garlic, chopped cilantro, and lime juice.
6. Season with salt to taste, and if desired, add ground cumin for extra flavor.
7. Allow the salsa to sit for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors meld together before serving.
8. Serve with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, burritos, or grilled meats.
