Classic Remoulade Sauce

Remoulade is a flavorful sauce typically made with a base of mayonnaise and flavored with various ingredients, making it a perfect accompaniment for seafood, sandwiches, or as a dip for vegetables. This classic recipe features a zesty and tangy flavor profile.

Ingredients

• 1 cup mayonnaise
• 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
• 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
• 1 tablespoon capers, finely chopped
• 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried parsley)
• 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
• 1 teaspoon hot sauce (adjust to taste)
• Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

1. Combine the Base Ingredients:
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and Worcestershire sauce until smooth.

2. Add Flavorings:
Stir in the chopped capers, parsley, minced garlic, and hot sauce. Mix until well combined.

3. Season:
Taste the remoulade and season with salt and pepper as needed. Adjust the acidity by adding more lemon juice if desired.

4. Chill:
Cover the remoulade and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. This sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.

5. Serve:
Serve the remoulade as a dipping sauce for shrimp, crab cakes, or fried seafood. It also works wonderfully as a spread for sandwiches and wraps.
