Chutney
This Chutney combines fruits, spices, and vinegar to create a delightful blend that can complement meats, cheeses, or even be used as a spread. With endless variations, it’s a versatile addition to your culinary repertoire that brings a unique twist to your meals.
Ingredients
• 2 cups chopped fruit (mango, apple, or peach)
• 1/2 cup sugar (adjust based on fruit sweetness)
• 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
• 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
• 1 clove garlic, minced
• 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for heat)
Instructions
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped fruit, sugar, apple cider vinegar, onion, garlic, ginger, cinnamon, and red pepper flakes
2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer
3. Cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chutney thickens and the fruit softens
4. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature
5. Transfer to a jar or container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to develop
