Making your own pizza dough from scratch is simple and rewarding! This recipe yields a deliciously chewy and crispy crust that can be topped with your favorite ingredients for a perfect homemade pizza night.

Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (about 110°F/43°C)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions
1. In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
3. Stir until a rough dough forms, then transfer it to a lightly floured surface.
4. Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-1.5 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release the air.
7. Divide the dough into two equal portions for two medium pizzas, or keep it whole for one large pizza.
8. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to your desired thickness (thin or thick crust).
9. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and, if using, place a pizza stone in the oven to heat.
10. Transfer the rolled-out dough to a pizza peel or baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Add your favorite sauce, cheese, and toppings.
11. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
12. Remove from the oven, let cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve. Enjoy your homemade pizza!
